We specialise in allowing infrastructure to remain in place while excavation work is carried out. From ballast renewal to UTX works, our approach eliminates the need for conventional cut and lift methods, removing the need to lift track panels or reposition multiple sleepers. Sleepers and rails remain in situ while we efficiently remove ballast from beds and underneath, reducing manual handling and improving project speed.

Traditionally, poor-quality or wet ballast requires hand digging or specialist clamshell buckets, often involving the removal and repositioning of sleepers. Our suction excavation method is faster, safer, and far more efficient.

We tailor our approach depending on the nature of the work. For ballast renewal, we use an aggressive dig technique to maximise speed and efficiency. In areas with sensitive infrastructure such as platforms, URXs, or trial holes, we switch to a safe dig methodology to protect underlying services. Our ability to switch seamlessly between methods allows us to adapt to any excavation scenario with minimal disruption.

Our specialist equipment includes both on-track and off-track plant, which can be used independently or in combination. This versatility enables us to provide the perfect setup for a wide range of work scopes, delivering safe, efficient, and reliable excavation solutions every time.
